You'd rather play like Lisa Kudrow, maybe?

Guitar World magazine is releasing a DVD and instructional booklet that will show you how to play like Jimi Hendrix. Now if I only had any skill at all, this might be good for me.

Soulful Joss is a redhead now

The lovely British lass Joss Stone has a new album out and it's getting mixed reviews in the music press, primarily in Britain. She says this CD shows more about who she is, and some people are claiming that her bluesy soul style is very derivative of other people's work.

I'm a fan and I like her stuff, whether it's similar to other artists or not. For me, it's not about that, it's about whether the music is good or not. And I think it is.

What do you think?

Thank you, Jeff

It was an emotional time, but a wonderful time nonetheless, and a great way to send Jeff off into fatherhood.

Our two shows last weekend at Coleman's on Friday and the beautiful Mohegan Manor on Saturday were fitting tributes to all that Jeff Favalo has brought to the Mike Estep Band. With lots of family and friends in attendance on Saturday, we wished him well and gave you one last chance to see how much he means to all of us, both musically and personally. We're so glad we were able to do this show and go out the right way.

Jeff, thanks with all our hearts, and best of luck to you and Shannon and your new little lady Favalo on the way.

A night with The Boss

There was a "Music of Bruce Springsteen" concert at Carnegie Hall last week, and this blogger had a seat in the balcony and files his (glowing) review of the show. A number of artists performed a variety of his tunes, and the night ended with Bruce jumping in on the fun himself.

You can read his review here, and he also links to a number of other reviews and videos of the show.
