Yep, I'm back

I visited family in Michigan last week (that's my nephew David above and sister Susan below, both at Comerica Park with me), so I've not been blogging for a few days. Had a great time, but I'm back now and back in the swing. Lots of entertainment news and MEB stuff happening soon, so stay tuned!

Aren't you a little old for this?

How come we don't get invited?

The American Idol finalists made a trip to the White House. They were invited by Laura Bush’s press secretary, because she was Taylor Hicks’ ninth grade English teacher. Man, we never get that kind of invite.

Gettin' Hot in Herre

Wow, now that was a hot show!

Our Saturday night performance at Paper Mill Island Amphitheatre in Baldwinsville was a great time, but one of the most physically demanding shows we have ever played. It was 90º outside, but with the sun in our faces, no breeze and the warm concrete stage, it had to be at least 110º on stage.

But it was a hot show in other ways, too - we really rocked the crowd that came out to see us and the headliner Elevation, the U2 tribute band from Toronto. Those guys did an amazing job, especially with thier lead singer not being in full voice all night. Lots of our friends came out to see us, and we thank every one of you for hanging out with us. Good times all around.

And after the show we had a kickin' time with the Elevation boys over at Lake Effect. They had some great stories and — like most Canadians I've met — were just a great bunch of guys and a lot of fun to pound beers with.

Thanks to Joanie & Rachel for the pics.

See, Steve, I made it through the entire post without once mentioning your green flag pit stop.

No MEB is an Island

This Saturday July 15 we are appearing at the Budweiser Amphitheatre on Paper Mill Island in Baldwinsville, NY. We will be appearing with U2 tribute band Elevation. Gates open at 5:00 PM, and we take the stage at 6:00.

Right on the Seneca River in Baldwinsville, the Budweiser Amphitheatre is a great venue for live music; big stage, big sound, lots of room to party. There will be plenty of food and drink vendors, so come on out.

We hope to see you!

Happy 4th, Y'all!

Adding to today's celebration of our nation's beginnings was the successful launch of the Space Shuttle Discovery from Cape Canaveral, FL. If you've never had the chance to see a shuttle launch in person, try to catch one. It's a spectacular and humbling experience you won't ever forget.

And enjoy your holiday - lots of beer, barbeque, and good friends.
