Call in the militia - we're almost out of scotch!

They've been using much of the older scotch for blends, and now the distilleries are running out. Bummer, dude!

Or it's just a marketing ploy to get us to stock up now on aged scotch.

Single-malt scotch shortage is double trouble for distillers, consumers

Live 8 will be broadcast on MTV

Cool beans. MTV and VH1 will be showing a bunch of the Live 8 concerts on July 2. Much like LiveAid did, I hope that these shows will provide some memorable performances.

Still can't believe the MEB doesn't make lists like this

Spin Magazine chose it's top CDs of the last 20 years, and we didn't get included. Jerks.

OK, maybe not.

But let us know what you think about their choices.

Winnie Cooper in Stuff Magazine?

We fell in love with Danica McKellar as shy, nerd-loving, girl-next-door Winnie Cooper on hit TV show The Wonder Years. Now this native Californian has ditched the shyness and is frequenting grown-up shows, like The West Wing, NYPD Blue and Jack and Bobby.

Something Syracuse can be proud of

Like the guy below that's visiting 1000 bars in a year, this Post-Standard columnist plans to have a drink at each of the bars with a Syracuse address:
According to the State Liquor Authority, there are 378 licensed bars with Syracuse mailing addresses, a cakewalk by comparison.

And so my journey begins. For the next calendar year - or as long as it takes - I will have a drink at every Syracuse bar unless it looks from the outside as if I could be assaulted there.

He's rasing money for the VFW. I think we should all participate/contribute/encourage.

45 additional ways to leave your lover

Paul Simon's "50 Ways To Leave Your Lover" is one of our classic cover tunes [sung so eloquently by Mike], but it really only suggests 4 or 5, doesn't it? I think we need more.

So here is one person's suggestions for 45 more.

Coldplay, Black Eyed Peas, White Stripes

Tuesday is the music industry's equivalent of Super Tuesday, and executives and retailers are hoping for a big turnout.

Long awaited albums from three high-profile groups — Coldplay, the Black Eyed Peas and the White Stripes — will hit shelves Tuesday, an unusual triple-threat that could help the industry bounce back from this year's 7% dip in album sales.
