craigslist, a great website, gets some props

I found this site a few years ago, and it's great. This is where I found tickets to a baseball game at Fenway, where to see a band in Austin, and there's a ton of other stuff here. I can't begin to explain all that this site has, but for over 55 cities, this is the place to hang and get advice from your neighbors. If you live in one of the craigslist cities, you gotta check it out, and it's a great resource for anyone who's traveling, too.

The initial site was for the San Francisco Bay area, so craigslist.org takes you to the SF Bay site. Click on a city to the right to choose that region's info and postings.

I'm having a crisis; they're watering down my Jack!!

Jack Daniels is changing from 86 proof to 80 proof, and they claim that their customers prefer it. What!?!?! They sure didn't ask me. I'm way more than a little pissed.

Here's a link to an online petition asking them to change it back. For the sake of all that is good and healthy, please change it back!

Or go to Jack Daniels.com and and send them a nasty note. Man, this is really making my ass twitch.

Mount St. Helens about to blow again, and you can watch

Mount St. Helens VolcanoCam - Washington State, USA

This is an image of Mount St. Helens, taken from the Johnston Ridge Observatory. The Observatory and VolcanoCam are located at an elevation of approximately 4,500 feet, about five miles from the volcano. You are looking approximately south-southeast across the North Fork Toutle River Valley.

This image automatically updates approximately every five minutes.

We are in close contact with USGS and the University of Washington Pacific Northwest Seismograph Network. We will post updates as needed. There is no immediate cause for concern beyond the normal awareness that earthquakes and small steam explosions and/or small debris flows are always a possibility in the crater of the volcano. For the latest information, check our our Special Conditions Report for any current activity.

R.I.P. Johnny Ramone

Johnny Ramone, seen here at the 2002 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony, fought prostate cancer for five years.

The last of the original Ramones is gone. Although The Ramones never had a hit single or top 40 album and were overshadowed as punk innovators by later groups such as the Sex Pistols, they stuck it out for 22 grueling years.

USATODAY.com has the story.

As long as she wears the shorts, I'm OK with this

But will she dye her hair brown to become Daisy Duke? And who's playing Uncle Jesse? And Cooter? And Boss Hawg?

So many questions, so few answers.

The head St. Lunatic has a new double album out

Nelly, a rapper who actually sings and has a great sense of melody and hooks, releases his double album "Sweat" and "Suit." This reviewer actually seems surprised that she likes it.

Kiss the cook, and turn up the music

Ten tunes, and menu suggestions, for Labor Day barbecue from MSNBC.com.

It was a little soggy on our last night at the New York State Fair. It delayed us but didn't stop us. A big thanks to all who came out, braving the weather which was typical NY all three days. Posted by Hello

This is even wierder than, "You'll put an eye out!"

It looks like you can collapse your lung if the big bass in your ride is too loud. Now that's wacky.
