Cities Nationwide For "America's Night Out Against Crime:
National Night
Out - August 3rd
On
Tuesday, August 3rd, residents of West Henrietta are being invited
to join forces with thousands of communities nationwide for the 21st Annual
National Night Out (NNO) crime and drug prevention event. National
Night Out, which is sponsored by the National Association of Town Watch (NATW)
and co-sponsored locally by Riverton's United Neighbors (R.U.N.), will
involve over 10,000 communities from all 50 states, US Territories,
Canadian cities and Military bases across the globe. In all, over 34 million
people are expected to participate in "America's Night Out Against Crime" on
August 3rd. NNO 2004 is being supported in part by the US Department
of Justice, Bureau of Justice Assistance.
National
Night Out is designed to: (1) Heighten crime and drug prevention awareness;
(2) Generate support for, and participation in, local anti-crime efforts;
(3) Strengthen neighborhood spirit and police-community partnerships;
(4) Send a message to criminals letting them know neighborhoods are organizing
and fighting back.
From
6-10PM on August 3rd, residents throughout West Henrietta and across
the nation are asked to lock their doors, turn on their outside lights
and spend the evening outside with neighbors and police. R.U.N. will
be hosting a Block Party at 152
Hummingbird Way in West Henrietta.
The
Block Party will feature:
- Police, Fire
and Medical Emergency vehicles for the kids to explore and personnel to
answer questions
- Many
booths staffed to answer a host of other safety questions.
- Free
Pizza and Soda
- Clown
on hand for the children
- Karate

Driving
Directions from the Thruway:
Get off at Thruway Exit 46 (Rochester/Corning)
Take ramp towards 390 North (Rochester)
Before ramp merges to 390N, take right onto Lehigh
Station Rd (towards
W Henrietta)
Take left at light onto Lehigh Station Road
Take Lehigh Station Rd to 2nd light (West Henrietta Rd)
Take left on West Henrietta Rd (Tim Horton's on Left, Wendy's across the street)
Take right at 1st light (Thruway Park Drive)
At light, Thruway Park Drive becomes Erie Station
Rd.
Continue on Erie Station Road.
Take Left at next light (E. River Rd). Sugarcreek & Mike Angello's
Pizza on right
Take 1st Right onto Scottsville West Henrietta Rd (sign reads: Scott
W Henn Rd)
Take Left onto Moore Road (Ryan Homes Model is on the corner)
Take 1st Right onto Butterfly Lane
Take Butterfly Lane until it ends at Hummingbird
Way.
Take Right on Hummingbird Way
(At this point the road will be blocked off. If you
are attending the event, park along the neighborhood streets & walk into the cul de sac. If you are
staff or a resident of Hummingbird Way & need to get through, move road block & keep
speed to a minimum)
Follow Hummingbird Way until you reach Cul de sac.
From
Rochester / North:
Take 390S to Lehigh Station Road Exit (after Hyland
exit)
Take right on Lehigh Station Road
Follow directions from Lehigh Station Road above.
From Rochester / East:
Take 490 West to 590 South
Take 590 South to 390 South
Take 390S to Lehigh Station Road Exit (after
Hyland exit)
Take right on Lehigh Station Road
Follow directions from Lehigh Station Road above.
From Rochester / West:
Take 490 East to 390 South
